BookTubeAThon Diary: Day Six (04/08/18)

Header

General thoughts: I’ve had yet another unexpectedly productive day of the BookTubeAThon today! Again, I really didn’t expect to get much reading done today, but with fitting in reading in every spare second I had I managed to make solid progress on Starry Eyes and put myself in a good position to get it finished tomorrow.

The events in the novel are really starting to pick up the pace from where I left off in yesterday’s update. It is so nice to be able to read something for a while where you can get through a page in under a minute because it’s full of fast dialogue rather than huge amounts of description (which I also love and which also has its place.) Bennett is striking a good balance between showing us the beautiful landscape that Zorie and Lennon are passing through, while keeping the dialogue constant and engaging. I keep thinking that it’s quite impressive how she is able to keep us hooked with only two major characters and one location for a lot of the novel, but Bennett is definitely managing it! I’m looking forward to finding out how it all resolves tomorrow, as she has thrown in some interesting twists already.

If I have time tomorrow, I *may* pick up How to be a Medieval Woman by Margery Kempe, but I doubt that I will be able to. That being said, I already hit my personal goal of reading 1000 pages today, so any extras tomorrow will really be a bonus!

Pages read today: 166

Total pages read so far: 1033

Challenges completed today: 0

Total challenges completed so far: 2

Total books read so far: 3

My Instagram challenge submission: Again, I didn’t have access to my books today so couldn’t take part in the challenge. I’m thinking, though, that if I get home early enough tomorrow I may actually be able to give the final one a go!

Have you read anything by Jenn Bennett?

Have a beautiful day,

Bex ♥
