BookTubeAThon Diary: Day Four (27/07/17)

General thoughts: Another surprising day, in that I was pleasantly surprised by the amount I read. I didn’t finish In Darkness by Nick Lake, which I was really hoping to, but writing this almost at midnight I’ve got thirty or so pages left and plan to read it and hopefully finish it before I fall asleep! Lake’s writing style is stunning, and the book is definitely on track to get a high rating from me, but I just can’t shake the feeling that his dual narrative just doesn’t quite work all the time.

Given that I should definitely have finished In Darkness in the next hour or so I plan to move on to The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson tomorrow and hopefully make good progress with that. I think a YA is called for as my last two reads have been historical and non-fiction! I may also pick up Howl, Kaddish and Other Poems by Allen Ginsberg, but you’ll have to wait and see on that. I know, the suspense is real.

As always, let me know how you’re getting on so far if you’re taking part in the BookTubeAThon, or if you aren’t, whether you’d consider getting involved next time! Are you on target to achieve your goal, or is there a challenge that you think might prove difficult to achieve?
